Spare time is a scarce commodity, and most of us struggle to balance our personal and professional lives. At Skin, Bones, Hearts & Private Parts, we try to make learning easy – and fun – with online CME courses designed to help nurse practitioners (NPs), registered nurses (RNs), physician assistants (PAs), and physicians earn CME at their own pace, on their own time.
Online CME Courses Way
Our On-demand CME is our most flexible online option, allowing you to earn CME credits from anywhere at any time by purchasing a pre-recorded course and learning at your own pace. Our comprehensive, 24-course “Best of the Best of 2024” package, for example, offers 33.75 CME credit hours (Rx = 8.75) covering topics such as atrial fibrillation, skin and soft tissue infections, diabetes technology, spine assessment, cervical cancer prevention, chronic pain conditions, and more. We also offer individual courses dedicated to single topics, such as cardiology & emergency medicine, diabetes, pain management, pharmacology & prescribing, women’s health, orthopedics, and dermatology. All of the packages are sourced from our in-person locations, ensuring you’re getting the same up-to-date content as everyone else.
Virtual CME
If you want a more interactive experience, Virtual CME offers live streaming directly from one of our in-person CME conferences, where you can network with peers and submit questions to the speakers live via the chat function. Our upcoming In-person CME Conferences are on the following dates:

Reducing Stress in the Process
And while we recognize that adding an “easy button” to earning CME won’t solve everything, we do hope it’s one step in the right direction. To further reduce stress, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention offers a few strategies:
- Take Five – Take a deep breath and relax. Even five minutes of self-care can help.
- Be Active – Take a walk, stretch, or find another physical activity that works for you.
- Connect with Others – Reach out to friends and family.
- Make a Plan – Stick to a daily routine that includes rest, exercise, and eating healthy.
- Seek Support – Talk about your feelings with friends, family, and trusted organizations. Reach out to clergy or others in your faith community.
- Get Help from a Professional – Talk to a health care provider about your feelings.
The CDC has also reported that, according to surveys, 40 percent of workers report their job is “very or extremely stressful”; 26 percent report they are “often or very often burned out or stressed by their work”; and 29 percent report they feel “quite a bit or extremely stressed at work.” For those of us in the healthcare community, we’re not immune to workplace stress, and the Mental Health America’s (MHA) online Stress Screener can help you identify and learn tips for quelling stress.
For employers and those in management, additional strategies include:
- Create a strong work-life balance
- Provide employees with premium benefits
- Encourage open communication
- Offer vacation time off
- Schedule team outings
- Use flexible work schedules
- Provide employee recognition
- Encourage breaks throughout the day
- Make the office welcoming
- Understand mandated leave requirements.
Here at Skin, Bones, Hearts & Private Parts, we’re big believers that celebrating joy and scheduling a little downtime are foundational to reducing stress. We were founded on the premise of “where medical education meets fun,” and we hope you’ll join us—online or in-person—this year!
